INVESTIGATOR (Inspector General's Office) S1269-001-2006

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree supplemented by one year of experience in the conduct of investigations of criminal or fraudulent activity, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. A valid State of Illinois driver's license is required, as well as the availability to work any duty watch.

2010 STARTING RATE OF PAY:
$49,668 per year

DUTIES:

  • Reviews work schedules and time sheets to assure employees are present and accounted for.
  • Investigates alleged violations of residency requirements by City employees by conducting interviews, collecting documents and using photographic and video equipment to maintain surveillance.
  • Investigates criminal and non-criminal allegations against City employees.
  • Completes comprehensive reports detailing findings and investigations.
  • Appears and testifies in court and at Personnel Board hearings.
  • Performs related duties as required.
