PROGRAM EVALUATION INTERN (Inspector General's Office)
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Applicants should be pursuing or have obtained a graduate degree in public policy, public administration, urban planning, public health, social work, economics, or a related field;
Desired experiences, skills, and traits include:
- Professional experience;
- An interest in government/public policy;
- Initiative, determination and assertiveness;
- Work effectively on group projects as well as independently; capable of interacting with a broad range of individuals;
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Access;
- Familiarity with other software programs such as ArcGIS, SAS, and SPSS;

2010 ANNUAL SALARY:
UNPAID – May be used to satisfy academic credit requirements
TIME COMMITMENT:
15 to 20 hours per week
DURATION:
3 to 4 months
DUTIES:
The position requires a person with a strong desire to make a visible and direct contribution to the development of public policy in a nonpartisan setting.
- Conducting policy research on issues of importance
- Collecting and analyzing quantitative data in manual and electronic formats, including the use of statistical software as necessary;
- Researching laws and professional literature;
- Reviewing and analyzing agency records;
- Drafting analyses of City of Chicago programs and policy.
